The project takes the form of sixty classes, tours and workshops in the fields of painting, photography, sculpture, street art, theater, music and sound, graphic design, textile design, creative thinking, politics, urbanism, architecture and more. Leading the classes are instructors from different disciplines, including actors, presenters, musicians, visual artists, architects and designers.
Classes take place throughout the neighborhood, in participants' studios and other private and public spaces, such as Yehudit Boulevard (where the Language School takes place), in cafes, public gardens, a theater, private schools and residential apartments.
Classes in Metropolis 2 are free and available by advanced registration.

What’s New in Metropolis 2
This year, Metropolis is first and foremost an interdisciplinary art school that runs out of one neighbourhood - Montefiore, a mixed-use neighborhood with residential, industrial and commercial claims. Metropolis 2 comes directly out of this combination. Classes take place in various spaces, from private apartments to gardens and streets. This year, we also examine the forms that classes can take and offer workshops and unconventional tours.
The neighborhood is located West of the Ayalon Highway and East of Derech Menachem Begin.
The Azrieli Mall forms its Northern border and Yitzhak Sadeh Street, its Southern border.
Yehudit Boulevard cuts through the neighborhood from East to West, and is accesses from Derech Menachem Begin.

The Art of Walking A tour focusing on the social and political characteristics of the neighborhood. Led by Nisan Almog.
Urban Parasitism A tour sprinkled with public interventions - sculptures planted along the route - assembled using materials and found objects from the street. Led by Shay Id Alony and Sharon Glazberg.
The Photos You Didn’t Take A tour about the leading practice of observation in photography. Led by David Havrony.

Japanese Art and Kitsch On kitsch’s integration in the Tokyo art scene. Led by Amanda Mehl.
Taking In-camera Pictures On the image-making process. Led by Tamarin Makarov.
Looking at Reality Through Art Tinted Glasses How can classic and contemporary art affect our ability to recognize beauty in everyday life? Led by Ilya Gefter.
Experiential workshops in a variety of fields:
Workshops in vocal development and song delivery with Merav Hazan, charcoal drawing with Erez Aharon, dance and movement with 'Shlombal' (dance, improvisation, performance), and an introductory lesson in playing the guitar and drums in Budagov’s Music Shop.
The Public Classroom is an open space designated for the purpose of language studies, situated on Yehudit Boulevard in the Montefiore neighborhood.
This classroom is an open forum for anyone interested in learning a new language or teaching others their own. We propose converting the street into an urban site of knowledge where people meet, interact, and tutor.

The Science of Dreams / Rany Levy
A therapeutic dialogue between a psychotherapist and a volunteer from the audience about a personal dream that they have had. The conversation takes place in a space that enables the audience to hear and bear witness to the proceedings.
Artistic Advice / Yoav Weiss
A public consultation on any matter related to art. Sometimes it is hard to be an artist; sometimes it is difficult to understand art. Yoav Weiss, a professional and experienced artist, will address any question on any topic related to art or personal and professional dilemmas. Each consultation costs one and a half New Israeli Shekels. At the corner of Yehudit Boulevard and Ha-Natsiv Street.

The Cooking Studio hosts Shahar Marcus; classes at BPM College; Yair Garbuz, Nava Zukerman, Yair Vardi and Merav Shinn Ben Alon at Tmuna Theater; Anat Goldman, Adi Kerlitz, Maya Elran, Elad Rosen and Noam Partom at the home made coffee shop, Short-Cut; introductory lessons in silk-screening, Budagov’s Music Shop, a comics workshop and additional interdisciplinary classes in design and architecture, drawing and painting, and the science of dreams - therapeutic performance by Rany Levy at the second-hand store, BUY Kilo.

Graffiti for Kids
Lesson in Street Art

Our work space for this class will be the back of the Artists' Studios, where we can take inspiration from the urban environment. We will create drawings in relation to the site itself and then wheat-paste them site specifically.
The lesson is suited for students in grades 2 and 3.
Maayan Sophia Weisstub is an artist and a freshman in the Department of Industrial Design at Shenkar. Her activities in the arts extend to urban spaces, where she creates works that are in dialogue with their sites.
