This classroom is really an open forum for anyone interested in learning a new language or teaching others their own. We propose converting the street into an urban site of knowledge where people meet, interact, and learn new languages.

Language School takes place on the street, where you hear numerous languages, but access few. The school unlocks the gate and enables us to enter a world of different cultures, and to be exposed through experiential training. The discovery of a new language is an opportunity to see the world around us in a new way and discover new things, like why is Japanese so picturesque? Where does French really originate from? How does one translate the world into Sign Language? What is the background of Tigrinya, heard everywhere in Tel Aviv?

The Language School is divided into four sections.

Each section holds a  45 minute lesson, including

different tones and alphabets: French, Tigrinya,

Japanese, Sign Language and a Carte Blanche class.

The Carte Blanche class is your chance to offer the language knowledge you have acquired and share it with passersby - to learn and to teach any language you know - Danish, Arabic, Russian, Swahili, Hebrew. Besides curiosity and attentiveness, no prior knowledge is required. Welcome to a class that incubates and produces new and surprising encounters between different cultures.
